I loathe packing...

I leave here the 9th for sunny, wonderful San Diego! I've got all my credits squared away (so far - ask me again at the end of the semester... GO UNM. Bleh.)

Nothing new to report... Just so xcited to move!

Wow...

Time sure is creeping up on me crazy fast - I've got 57 days until the start of my internship and, with the recent flood of information, I'm surprised I haven't exploded from a combination of extreme joy and sensory/informational overload.

I've started making preparations, both for moving out of my house and for moving into the new place with Sarah.

Upon accepting the position with the NMMP, Sarah and started making plans to live together. My initial thought was to live with my sister, but she's a good 30 miles away from where the internship is and, as much as I love my nephew, I don't know how I'd fare living with a two year old for four months. Sarah had the foresight to immediately jump on a housing opportunity a mere 2 miles from the facility so we're living in a one bedroom, one bathroom guest house on Point Loma. I have a feeling neither of us will be spending any amount of time there at all, so it should work out just fine.

Anyway... Preparations are going interestingly - I need someone willing to sign a 4 month sublet on my house so I have something to come back to when my 4 months is over (assuming I'm not offered a job. :) Mwuhahaha!). But I'm working on getting a garage sale together, cleaning out my house, gathering things I'll need like rain pants, sweat shirts, sweat pants, shoes and boots - just general supplies so I don't have to go naked or hang out all fishy and gross in jeans.

I did get my schedule, however... I've got alot of time with the sea lions which is really great and about half as much time with the dolphins (kind of bummed, but it's okay). I don't get to do any TTS (that's temporary threshold shift which is the research being done on cetacean hearing abilities) which I was really interested in. Oh well - I'll take what I can get for sure - And I've been told the schedule isn't final; it can change between now and the 20th which, it turns out, is my actual start date because of a holiday on the 19th.

That's it for now - More as it become available!

Welcome!

Hi all and welcome to my new blog! Some of you may know me from LiveJournal by the same username, but I'll be using this blog exclusively for my experiences with the Navy's Marine Mammal Program.

Perhaps it's a little early for me to begin this process, but damn it, I'm excited!

I will make every attempt to update as frequently as possible; hopefully once a week at the very least. If I can, I will attach whatever photos I have available from the internship.

Barring any unforseen circumstances, this blog will begin regular updates around January 19th, the start date for the internship.

I'm looking forward to this experience and I hope everyone who subscribes will be just as eager to read my entries.
